Scholarships, Bursaries and Fee Assistance
The dream of the founders of Â鶹´«Ã½AV was to have a school where all Jewish children could attend, regardless of means, to learn of their heritage, to be proud Jews and dedicated supporters of Israel whilst understanding their role in Australian society.
From our earliest days, Â鶹´«Ã½AV has developed a well earned reputation as one of the top academic schools in Victoria. That reputation continues today, however the bursary funds are distributed on a strictly needs-based measure, irrespective of the academic ability. By increasing our funds available for fee assistance in this way, we believe that our practice will reflect the value we place on all children and target the financial help where it is most needed and help even more children to enjoy the benefits of a Scopus education.
Scholarships, bursaries and needs based grants
Â鶹´«Ã½AV offers various Scholarships and needs-based assistance to provide a Scopus education to Jewish students who otherwise would not be able to attend.
A range of financial bursaries and grants are available to assist students in all year levels from Prep to Year 12 to help defray the cost of tuition fees. A determination is made based on each family’s individual circumstances based on their financial and other information. Applications can be made at any time by new or current families.
Specific programs are detailed below, but for further information about the College or place availability contact Enrolments on 9834 0070, or to enquire about fee assistance call 9834 0093.
Further information about the process is available on the Fee Assistance FAQs page.

Gesher - Bringing the gap from Kinder to Primary School
Our new Gesher Bursaries aim to support families by bridging the gap between the Child Care Subsidy received in Kinder, and school tuition fees in Prep and Year 1. Gesher will help a broader range of families moving forward, which benefits both the families involved and the entire Scopus community.

What is Gesher?
Gesher is the Hebrew word for "bridge." This program was created to help families navigate the financial transition from Kindergarten to Prep and beyond, supporting an immersive Jewish education at Â鶹´«Ã½AV. The aim of Gesher is to keep the tuition fees for primary school for eligible families in line with your out of pocket costs for Kinder.
Am I eligible?
Every family who feels they cannot afford full fees is encouraged to come and speak with us about what it might take to keep the payable fees for your child(ren) affordable. If you are eligible for CCS whilst your child attends Kinder, you are likely to be eligible for Gesher.
What is involved in the process?
We understand that simplicity and privacy are paramount for our parents, hence the process to apply for Gesher has been intentionally crafted with this in mind.
The process begins with a simple and short expression of interest form, followed by a confidential phone conversation to understand your family's unique circumstances. A meeting and submission of some documentation may be required for some families.
Does it apply for Prep only?
While Gesher is designed to help with the initial "bridge" into Primary School, we are committed to working with families throughout their journey at the College.
Can I apply for Gesher if I already have a school aged child or if I have a younger child coming through?
Yes; we understand that some families may need assistance once their second or subsequent child starts school. Other families may have concerns about affordability when a younger child progresses from Kinder to Prep.
Please contact us to discuss your circumstances as either Gesher or other support might be the most appropriate pathway for your family.
So if you have been assessed to receive the CCS for kinder and hadn't previously felt eligible for assistance then for a confidential chat about how we might be able to help you, call 9834 0093 or lschonker@scopus.vic.edu.au or to fill in an enquiry form and we’ll contact you.
